Cartref Park began in 1986 as an idea:

An idea to create a place of peace and tranquility, to encourage the native flora and fauna to return to their natural habitat and a place for people to enjoy during all seasons.

The six acres of garden include a large variety of native plants, mostly West Australian and many local to the area.

The Mediterranean garden contains a more formal display during the seasons of Autumn and Spring.  The David Austin roses and a growing profusion of heritage roses create a colourful display with their lavender, rosemary and germander companions.

Many deciduous trees and shrubs make a colourful display in autumn due to the cool autumn Toodyay evenings.

The many water features include a spring-fed stream meandering through the camellias, the five ponds are home to many species of frogs namely, Western Tree, pobblebonk, Gunther's toadlet and more.

Visitors are invited to bring a picnic lunch and sit, relax and observe the abundant bird life. While enjoying the silence, you might glimpse the small bearded dragons and Gould's monitior lizards.

Adults $3  Coaches welcome.
